FAQs

What Shocks?

Comes to personal preference and build style. Our style of rocks is heavy breakovers, steep climbs, crazy sidehills. Short shocks for the front, sticking to around 80mm with or without springs and light weight shock oil (10-25wt). Goal for all around great rig is a 2” belly height (from ground to lowest part on skid). To get slightly lower, adding Traxxas shock caps can drop it down a few needed millimeters.

Rear shocks can be longer up to 90-96mm also with or without springs. The shocks set up at a steep angle which adds more droop.

What Axles?

The Ground Zero chassis and Aftermath chassis both excel with Capra based axles. Meus axles are also an option for the Aftermath which have similar mounting points to the Capra axles. Supershafty axles are very good option at a cost, combine a heavy front axle with a plastic rear Capra axle to utilize the Unknown Rc Link riser.

Ground Zero- Supershafty Cp44 front, plastic Capra rear, or plastic for both. Make sure to pick up Dluxfab portal covers and loaded dice hangers to fit their Loaded Dice wheels.

Aftermath- Supershafty CP43 front, plastic Carpa rear, or plastic for both. This cheater c2 rig is servo on axle with 4 link, so axles meant for 3 link and panhard will not work.

Atom- Supershafty CP43 front, Ar45p rear. Ar45p set, F10p. If fitting a CP43 make sure to get the short +6mm panhard/ link mount to get the chassis low to the axle.

Fallout- Scx6 stock axles, Vitavon, Treal. Vertex6 axles may fit with mods to the link kit. supporting MODS on this site are all fitted for stock scx6 axles or aftermarket replacements like Treal.

Electronics, Drivetrain, Shafts?

Many different Esc’s on the market today, so personal preference here. Few recommended brands I choose to run are Dluxfab S2 ESC 70A Xt30 4s. Silent Assasin Esc 70A Xt30 4s.

Motors I recommend for fitment and control, Holmes Hobbies Team spec revolver or V3 revolver or any motor of your preference in the general size.

Transmissions in the compact size are needed for these builds. Dluxfab has an excellent verity, NOD/ NOD2, Portal, Od3. Any transmission in the general size would work.

Shafts- front and rear from Dluxfab in their cut to length options. Another is EXO rc, their cut to length is perfect for a long rear shaft. Front shafts may need lots of fitment to get short enough to fit. Angle of transmission may be needed to get all shafts/ motor clearances correct.

Rubber Bands?

#33 Black rubber bands have been excellent in keeping the best tension and able to tune on the fly. They will stretch and degrade, so grab a big bag and keep some on hand.

Body, Mounts?

Body is personal preference, but some fit better than others like the JConcepts 1/16 illuzion, Jconcepts 1/16 K10 or just a roof top (check store for roof) for the Ground Zero, Axial Pro body for the Aftermath chassis.

Body Mounts I recommend are Dluxfab Ultra-light weight mounts which come in various sizes, Unknown Rc Rear high clearance mount.
